Services
Community Counselling Services
Counselling Services aim to improve well-being in the community by offering supportive counselling, therapy, practical support, referrals to other services, and advocacy for individuals or groups.
Services can be provided on a one-to-one basis for adolescents, children and families.
Echuca Regional Health Counselling Services can assist with a wide range of issues, for example family and relationship issues, coping with chronic illness, depression, anxiety and related conditions.
Grief and trauma support and counselling are offered to individuals or families. Group work is also offered for families who have suffered the loss of a child.
There is no cost associated with this service however appointments are necessary. Referrals can be made by either other professionals or by the individual themself.
Acute Hospital Social Work
Social Work services operate from a multidisciplinary perspective to ensure that patients and families needs are met in a person centred manner. This ensures that the focus is not only on the disease but rather the person as a whole. Social Work services are able to provide the family with emotional as well as practical support. The Social Work team has established links with other Echuca Regional Health departments, including oncology, palliative care and the Transition Care Program.
For referral to the Social Work Department ask the ward staff or contact 03 5485 5800.
