Primary Care
Primary Care is a division of Echuca Regional Health which brings together client services independent of the hospital or Aged Care facilities.
Services include Social Services for generalist counseling, children’s counseling and family support services. These counselors work with inpatients as well as those in the community and have many links to other services such as housing, mental health and support provided through the Shire of Campaspe.
The Aboriginal Liaison Officer supports members of the indigenous community.
Alcohol and Other Drug services are provided through counseling, Drink Drive Education Courses and a Pharmacotherapy clinic. Clinicians help people with addictions to reduce the harm of drug addiction. Pharmacotherapy clients are linked into the Echuca Primary Care Clinic, located in the Medical Suites where there is a part-time GP.
Health Promotion covers work within the community and schools to increase awareness and knowledge of health issues and services. Within that team, we have individual specialist nurses in the fields of diabetes, QUIT, asthma education and women’s health.
Allied Health services include Occupational Therapy, Podiatry, Physiotherapy, Dietetics and Speech Pathology for community members of various ages. Some of these services also provide inpatient care as well as community client care.
The Dental Clinic provides dental care for local adult residents with concession cards. The School Dental Service is situated alongside the adult clinic in the Integrated Care Services buildings.
ERH Medical Consulting Suites provides consulting rooms for visiting surgeons and other specialists. It also houses the After-Hours GP clinic supported by local GPs on a rostered basis.
The Community Rehabilitation Centre helps clients back to full health following major surgery, joint replacements and trauma.
