The Health Promotion Department provides a diverse range of programs and services including:
Regular clinics run by qualified Diabetes Educators. The service provides ongoing monitoring and management of people with newly diagnosed and existing Diabetes through outpatient clinics. Services include provision of initial education for clients newly diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes, Type 2 Diabetes, Gestational Diabetes and Impaired Glucose Tolerance. Provision of regular clinics related to sexual and reproductive health, pap smears, breast care and contraception advice for women. For further information on ERH Womens Health services, click here
Provision for consumers to access asthma and respiratory education services as an integral part of the management of respiratory disease across all ages. For further information on ERH Asthma services, click here
The health promotion team works to develop early intervention projects that prevent illness in the community. There is a focus on the Echuca/Moama community, and staff of Echuca regional Health. Projects are developed in collaboration with local agencies and are based on identified community need. Our key priority areas for 2009-2012 are Mental Health and Wellbeing and Physical Activity and Nutrition. Current programs include: Work Health Program, Smiles 4 Miles, Kids – Go for your life, Bullying in Schools Project, Echuca Specialist School – Kitchen Garden Project
