Services
The Primary care division of Echuca Regional Health has recently developed an Integrated referral centre that aims to streamline our systems for receiving and processing referrals for the following services:
Due to the high demands for services waiting lists are utilised by these primary care departments. Waiting times for services varies between departments.
Eligibility for services are established when the referral is received. Triage processess exist for all services. Priority tools are used to determine how urgently people need to be seen by the relevant health professional. In some cases this may involve a phone call to ask for more details about the person’s condition to identify their level of need and to help determine priority. In general, referrals are divided into three categories: High, medium and low.
All referrals are acknowledged via letters to the clients and to the referring doctor or clinician then placed on the relevant waiting list. When an appointment becomes available clients are contacted by phone by the relevant service.
Referrals to all services can be made via a letter from GP’s or medical specialists and any other health professionals. We encourage the use of the SCTT for referrals and can receive electronic referrals via Connecting Care.
Some services will accept self referrals and the relevant forms can be obtained via the integrated care reception.
