Primary Care
Primary Care is a division of Echuca Regional Health which covers services not catered in the Acute or Aged Care sector.
Services include:
- Social Services for generalist counselling;
- Children's counselling and family support services.
These counsellors work with inpatients as well as those in the community and have many links to other services such as housing, mental health and Shire of Campaspe services. An Aboriginal Hospital Liaison Officer provides connections with the indigenous community.
Alcohol and Other Drug services are provided through counselling, Drink Drive Education Courses and a Pharmacotherapy clinic where doctors help addicts to reduce the harm of drug addiction.
Health Promotion covers work within the community and schools to increase awareness and knowledge of health issues and services. Within that team, we have individual specialist nurses in the fields of diabetes, cardiac rehabilitation, asthma education and women's health.
Allied Health services include Occupational Therapy, Physiotherapy, Dietetics and Speech Pathology for school children, younger children and adults. All of these services also provide inpatient care as well as community client care.
The Dental Clinic provides dental care for Victorians with concession cards. The School Dental Service, although not run by ERH, is situated in one of the Primary Care buildings.
ERH Consulting Suites provides clinical accommodation for visiting and ERH surgeons and other specialists who have had local referrals made to them by the region's doctors.
The Community Rehabilitation Centre helps clients back to full health following major surgery, joint replacements and trauma.
