ECHUCA REGIONAL HEALTH AND THE COMMUNITY

Echuca Regional Health (ERH) benefits greatly from the generosity of community members and organisations, whether it be through major fundraising activities such as the Murray to Moyne or through a contribution to the ERH Foundation.  It is also important to recognise contributions from volunteers and in kind support that are an integral part of the Health Service.

In 2007, the Murray to Moyne fundraising effort raised over $24,000, which is being used to fit out a multi-purpose Health Promotion Van for the region.  We should see the van on the road by the middle of this year.

In 2008, we set a target to raise $40,000 to install a pneumatic tube between the Emergency Department and Goulburn Valley Pathology.  We far exceeded this target, a rally of support from out local community ensuring the project's success by raising over $50,000!

Thank-you to all of those people and businesses involved, visit the Murray to Moyne page for more information.

The Moama Bowling Club continues its generous relationship with the health service and the community, donating $30,000 to purchase a new colonoscope, and coming on board in 2008 as a Gold Sponsor in the Murray to Moyne.

The Horizon Committee is a relatively small group of local people who run the annual 'Murray Meander' fundraiser, and donate a substantial amount of money to both Echuca Regional Health and the Otis Foundation. In late 2007, the Horizon Committee donated $25,000 to Rose Baker Wing, to purchase a new infant incubator.

However even the smaller donations make a big difference.  The United Church Evening Fellowship recently donated $1,000, the proceeds of their movie night, to Rose Baker Wing.  This enabled the purchase of an infant oxygen monitor.

Donations whether monetary or in kind, assist us in continually improving the health services for the Echuca/Moama region and are recieved with thanks.  We are building for our future generations, just as we have done since 1882, maintaining Echuca Regional Health's valuable facilities for the benefit of the entire community.
